Where should I fly into and sleep and should I rent a car?
Airfare! I recommend flying into Philadelphia.
Sleeping! You’d do well to stay in Philadelphia, though it’s a large city so you’ll want to be more specific with your searches for a place to hang your hat. I recommend staying in the Chestnut Hill neighborhood (closest to the venue) or Mount Airy. This private AirBnb suite is absurdly beautiful. Looking for a room? Stay in Chestnut Hill or in this house by a student of Frank Lloyd Wright or in this freaking deeeeeelightful guesthouse. This suite is in walking distance to one of my favorite coffee shops and bookstores!
Hotel more your speed? BOOM. The Chestnut Hill Hotel runs about $199 a night. Make friends with some peeps and split the bill if you’d like! This hotel is adjacent to our book exchange location.
Car rental! I recommend Googling the precise distance from your hotel to the venue in order to make a final decision — but when in doubt, rent a car. Mount Airy and Chestnut Hill are densely packed, but getting from either neighborhood into downtown, full-of-skyscrapers-and-tourist-sites Philadelphia will require a train, a Lyft, or a bus ride.
